The world map

On Avatarverse, we have a vast world representing that of Avatar: the Last Airbender, with locations spread out across long distances. Therefore, it can be difficult to find your way around.

Dynmap

Dynmap is a plugin that generates a dynamic web map of Minecraft worlds. Avatarverse's dynmap is the easiest way to navigate the world and can be found here.

The map is fairly intuitive to use, but this guide will go over the less obvious tools.

Pop-ups

When you click on a feature on the map, it may give you a pop-up naming that feature. This is useful for retrieving the name of a province or settlement.

Hiddenness

You may find yourself on the map; that icon showing your player head and username is visible to everyone looking on the dynmap. This can be problematic if you wish to conceal your location for whatever reason.

To hide your display on the dynmap, use /dynmap hide in-game. To undo this, use /dynmap show.

Layers

If the display of certain features like provinces or routes displeases you, you can toggle the visibility of any of these layers on the left.

Views

On the right sidebar, you can expand a window to see different map types. For "AvatarRPG" (the world name) you can select either the flat or surface map views. Flat is the default bird's-eye view, and surface is an oblique 3D view of the world.
